Where AI is Already Used in Swiss Healthcare
Healthcare AI adoption is accelerating across Swiss institutions, yet no comprehensive resource existed to track these implementations — until now.
Healthcare AI adoption is accelerating across Swiss institutions, yet no comprehensive resource existed to track these implementations. SwissMed AI has created a systematic mapping of AI deployments now publicly accessible at mdai.ch/ai-map.
What the Map Includes
The Swiss Healthcare AI Map documents artificial intelligence tools deployed across hospitals, clinics, and outpatient settings, with searchable filters by region, facility type, medical specialty, and use case.
Current Coverage:
- 150+ documented deployments
- 38 AI tools tracked
- 22 cantons represented
Methodology
Inclusion requires traceable public evidence — such as a press release, institutional case study, vendor reference, or named clinical testimonial — linking Swiss healthcare providers to specific AI solutions.
Data collection involved desk research, vendor reference lists, and direct institutional submissions.
Scope and Limitations
Due to Switzerland's decentralised healthcare structure and limited public disclosure of many implementations, actual AI adoption significantly exceeds documented cases. The map represents a structured overview rather than a definitive census or independent audit.
Contributing
The initiative welcomes community input. Users can submit undocumented deployments or report inaccuracies through the submission portal.
